Greensboro & Monongahela Township

The meeting of the Greensboro Monongahela Township Joint Sewer Authority was held at 6:00 P.M. on November 25, 2025 at the Sewage Authority office. In attendance from the authority were William Monahan (by phone), Trudi Monahan (by phone), Kevin O’Malley – solicitor (by phone), Brian Lake(by phone),Tony Gashie and clerk Judith D. Hamlin.
Approval of the minutes: A motion to approve the October 21, 2025 minutes with one minor correction was made by Denny McIntire and seconded by Tony Gashie. All in Favor.
Hearing of visitors: None
Correspondence: Notice of for Selective insurance of increase in cost. Kevin O’Malley said he has been working with Selective. The rate is increasing from $11,493 to $11,924 – and increase of $491. Denny McIntire made a motion to continue with Selective Ins. Seconded by Bill Monahan. All in favor.
Water Report: September collections of $22,526.26 were received and deposited. October collections are reported to be $22,223.34.
Secretary Report: Bill Monahan made a motion to advertise the proposed 2026 budget for 30 days. Seconded by Trudi Monahan. All in favor. Judith Hamlin is making arrainements to put Shawn McManis and Tony Gashie on our bank account as signers. We received papers for releasing the Penn Vest lien. We have one small payment to make. Judith with email the paperwork to Kevin O’Malley to review.
Treasurer’s report: See attached report
A motion to approve the water, secretary and treasurer’s reports was made by Denny McIntire and seconded by Bill Monahan. All in Favor.
Operator Report: Michael Hardison, Jr reports that R & D Waters removed grease from Cabbage Flatts and Mapletown stations on 11/19/25. It was brought to the plant so there was no dumping fee. All the generators have been serviced. Michael brought fuel from Freedom Fuel in Uniontown. Judith has not received a invoice yet. The chart recorder is not working. Michael priced a digital, upgraded system. The equipment is estimated at a cost of $1,700 and about $1000 to install. Denny McIntire made a motion to have Michael proceed with this purchase and installation. Seconded by Bill Monahan. All in favor.
Engineer Report: Brian Lake reports that, weather allowing, the drive repairs will begin on Friday. If not, this coming week. AAE valves were ordered.
Legal Report: Kevin O’Malley contracted SPWA will ask SPWA to proceed with devising a way to report past due accounts. The by-laws issue was again tabled till the reorganization meeting in January.
