Greensboro & Monongahela Township

October 21, 2025         6:00 P.M.

The meeting of the Greensboro Monongahela Township Joint Sewer Authority was held at 6:00 P.M. on October 21, 2025 at the Sewage Authority office. In attendance from the authority were William Monahan, Trudi Monahan, Kevin  O’Malley – solicitor (by phone), Brian Lake, Tony Gashie and clerk Judith D. Hamlin.

Approval of the minutes:  A motion to approve the September 16, 2025 minutes with corrections was made by Trudi Monahan and seconded by Tony Gashie.  All in Favor.

Hearing of visitors: None

Correspondence:  None

Water Report: August collections of $21,604.99 were received and deposited.  September collections are reported to be $22,106.17.

Secretary Report:           

  1. The CD is maturing on October 24, 2025.  William Monahan signed the paper to have it roll over and Judith Hamlin will take it to the bank.
  2. Judith Hamlin will prepare a letter to the bank to have all five members of the board be able to sign checks.  She will see if this can also be set up for the CD.

Treasurer’s report: See attached report

A motion to approve the water, secretary and treasurer’s reports was made by Tony Gashie and seconded by Trudi Monahan.  All in Favor.

Operator Report:  Michael Hardison, JR was unable to attend so Brian Lake reported. Michael Hardison is pricing a simple DO sensor.  Michael Hardison and Brian Lake are investigating ways to stop the odor issue on Maple Ridge with Mr. Joe Waladora.  They are considering ordering an AAE vales and having Evoqua install a hydrosulfide sensor in the manhole.  This would be a one year contract at $695 a month.  Tony Gashie made a motion to proceed with this sensor and seconded by Trudi Monahan.  All in favor.

Engineer Report:  Brian Lake received bids for the driveway repairs at the plant and at Cabbage Flatts.  Rischel was the low bid at plant repair was $7,090.  The estimate for Cabbage Flats was $21,660.                                                                                                                             Tony Gashie made a motion to accept the Rischel bid and seconded by Trudi Monahan.  All in favor.

Legal Report:  Kevin O’Malley contracted SPWA about giving us a monthly report on past due / delinquent sewage bill accounts. 

The  by-laws issue was again tabled till next month when Denny McIntire can be present.

Trudi Monahan made a motion to adjourn.  Seconded by Tony Gashie.  All in favor.  6:52 PM.
